Japan `24: Visual Travel Diary, Part 1
My dream came true twice after 5 years. Last time, I enjoyed the trip and skimmed through the details, this time I tried to enjoy the days and try to experience normal life in Japan. The trip was in May, during the golden week, but fortunately, having properly planned the trip, we managed to exclude the most popular places to visit for the Japanese - who are all on vacation at once!
During my trip to Japan, I explored cities and places that I would like to talk about in more detail in this post.
Locations: Osaka, Naoshima Island, Hiroshima, Miyajima Island, Kyoto, Nara, Nagoya, Tokyo.
Date: May, 16 days
Camera: Fujifilm x100F
Budget: 300K+ ¥
Art island of Japan, Naoshima: a place to see installations by Tadao Ando, Ishii Kazuhiro, and Yayoi Kusama. It took me 2 days to explore half of the island and discover the inspiring artworks and museums around.
I realized that I love concrete. Concrete and nature play together in contrast, and at the same time look like yin and yang in the environment. They argue, but do not give in to disharmony, but rather complement each other. And I love metal, I love reflections, I love Tadao Ando’s work, brilliant and so simple.
